Commissions
A piece made for your room, drawn and quoted before anything is cut.
01
How it works
- 1
You tell me what you need
What it is, roughly how big, which room, and when you’d like it. Photos of the space help. I reply within a few working days.
- 2
I draw it and quote it
You get a dimensioned drawing, a timber suggestion and a fixed price. We change it until it’s right.
- 3
I make it
A deposit books the timber and a place in the queue. Usually about a week, depending on the piece; you see photos at each stage.
- 4
Pickup or delivery
Collect it from the workshop or have it freighted, packed to travel. Delivery and care notes come with the piece.
Custom orders: 20% deposit once we’ve agreed the design and price. Proposed term, subject to the quote. Lead time: Usually about a week, depending on the piece. Estimate, confirmed when we agree the piece.
02
What helps
- Rough sizes. Width, depth and height, or the space it has to fit. Approximate is fine.
- The room. A photo or two, shared as a link in the enquiry form. There is no file upload.
- How it will be used. Who sits at it, what goes on it, how often.
- Timber ideas. If you have a species in mind, say so. If not, I will suggest one.
- When you need it, and a budget range. Both help me tell you honestly what is possible.
03
What I don’t take on
- Upholstery, and anything that needs a different trade to finish properly.
- Copies of another maker’s design.
- Work that has to be finished in under a few weeks.

Deposit and lead time
Custom orders: 20% deposit once we’ve agreed the design and price. Proposed term, subject to the quote.
Lead time: Usually about a week, depending on the piece. Estimate, confirmed when we agree the piece. Large or complex commissions take longer, and I say so in the quote.
